Wanted: New Music

Quality Beats
It's been quite some time since I've heard some new music and I'm getting restless. The last full album I've listened to was Come Around Sundown by Kings of Leon which was not too shabby. But considering I got the album a month or two ago, I've got this void that needs to be filled! Blame it on the IPhone. Maybe I'll blame it on the fact that Coach banned Steve Jobs from having an influence on our rowing season?
The only thing I've been excited for music wise the last couple of weeks has been the announcement of the DMB Caravan! Sounds like a sick party bus right? Well, it's better than that. First of all. Dave is playing in 2011 despite prior announcements that the entire band was taking the year off. I guess I should have expected this from the band that had its final tour date set for Wrigley Field last September and then pulled a Fall Tour up out of no where.
Long story short it's a deadly combination. DMB in Atlantic City for 3 Days...(and the concert is being held at an old airport.) That's some guitar hero sh*t if you ask me. Pretty damn cool. So grab your friends and head on down to AC June 24th-26th. Should be a good time!

Check out the lineup for anyone else you may know...OAR is a nice little addition for me and Dave and Tim acoustic set is something I thought I would have to go to Vegas for at some point! Success

Lie in Our Graves

This morning I'm doing some research on Geek blogs. Sounds boring but these blogs have some of the most interesting stuff out there. Check this thing out.

E-TombE-Tomb

How cool is that! It makes so much sense too. You won't see this catching on anytime soon but imagine all the 20 somethings (including myself) that would want people to tweet a grave. That's insane. I'm amazed at whoever thought of this idea. It's genius.

Speaking of graves...I'm hoping to hear Lie in Our Graves tomorrow night or Saturday! I couldn't resist integrating Dave into this post :)

Live in Las Vegas...An Ode to Dave

3 blog posts to date and not one mention of DAVE!? What is wrong with me....I know I'm obsessed and I'm perfectly fine with that. I am currently waiting for the Warehouse to release the status of my requested tickets for night 1 and 2 at Madison Square Garden in November. Can't wait. I've been listening to DMB - The Central Park Concert at work today and am enjoying it very much. Got a little Ants Marching coming out of my headphones.

This brings me to the point of this blog post. There are literally over 2 dozen live Dave albums and that isn't including any of the studio ones. How does one separate the good ones from the bad ones? Or how do you go about listening to every single live album they put out!? I'll save you some time and recommend an album for you to go out and buy. If you're a true Dave fan, you won't be disappointed. If you have already given it a listen, you probably already realized that it is one of the best live albums that isn't that recognized.
I'm talking about Live in Las Vegas, a show done in 2009 that featured just Dave and Tim.

The album is remarkable. I've only talked to Michelle and K Harry about it so far. Naturally being a DMB fan, Kyle is in love with the album as well. I just gave the CD to Michelle so I will patiently await her review. Here is the track listings (ripped from good ol' Wikipedia) and a few comments/favorites

On a side not my Neon blew its transmission again. >:(  Brought it to AAMCO for the 2nd time in the last 2 months. 3rd time in the past 10 months. I'm getting sick of the bullshit. I'm still under warranty so I have until November til I have to pay them money for any repairs. The fact that I keep having the same problem makes me feel like they're doing an inferior job. I wish I was back in MA so I could take my car to someone I actually trust. Update to follow!
